Policy Landscape
Pennsylvania provided universal free school breakfast during the 2023-2024 school year. Now, several bills are currently under consideration to implement a universal school meals program in the state. HB 180, sponsored by Representative Emily Kinkead, and SB180, sponsored by Senator Lindsey Williams, are key pieces of legislation that create a state fund to reimburse schools for the cost of providing two free meals daily to all students.
