Our Relationship to AmeriCorps
FoodCorps is proud to be part of the AmeriCorps Service Network. This means that we are a grantee of AmeriCorps--receiving a portion of our funding from them--and a member of a successful service network that includes Habitat for Humanity, City Year, and Teach for America. All of our service members are considered AmeriCorps service members and receive the benefits accorded with that program, including a monetary education award upon successful completion of the service term.
This year is AmeriCorps' 20th Anniversary! You can watch their 20th Anniversary video below:
State Service Commissions
State Service Commissions are governor-appointed, establishing the needs of their communities and help guide policy priorities for national service grants in their states. FoodCorps is proud to partner directly with five State Service Commissions to bring AmeriCorps members serving with FoodCorps to their states.
