It may seem like an obvious choice, high school students in America’s Oldest Seaport are getting a fresh dose of fish thanks to the nonprofit Cape Ann Fresh Catch organization.
The local community-supported fishery has teamed up with GHS and FoodCorps, a nationwide nonprofit that promotes healthier eating, to bring seafood to students at Gloucester High School.
Cape Ann Fresh Catch and members of the FoodCorps met at GHS to serve students hake burgers and fishermen’s stew made with local, underutilized species. The program was created by FoodCorps service member Connie Chuensumran.
