Take action now to get more kids connected to fresh, healthy, local food in school!
As part of the 2018 State of the State and FY19 Executive Budget, Governor Cuomo proposed to appropriate $10 million to quadruple the current school meal reimbursement to 25 cents for schools purchasing 30% of their meal ingredients from New York farms, while also doubling the state’s investment in Farm to School grants to $1.5 million.
Farm-to-school is a win-win: improving the health of our kids and helping support local farmers and the local economy.
The budget is set to be finalized by April 1. Tell your state legislators to support these important investments!
