Purpose Built Schools Atlanta

Purpose Built Schools Atlanta cultivates students? skills and agency in pursuit of their unlimited potential. They accomplish this through authentic and culturally relevant project-based instruction alongside enrichment, a safe and positive climate and culture, and student and family support. Established in 2018, the THES farm has served as a hub for stakeholders embracing the following vision: “Using urban agriculture as a bridge to connect our diverse communities, we will learn and grow together while forging meaningful relationships and feeding communities.”

Service members will deliver hands-on garden and nutrition based lessons to elementary school students within the Carver cluster. Members serving here will have the unique opportunity to participate in the establishment of Farm to School programming steeped in community-centered engagement.

In collaboration with site partners, FoodCorps Georgia serves over a dozen schools, reaching more than 1000 students with hands-on experiences in gardening, nutrition, and food preparation.
