Avocado turned into tasty guacamole in Mr. Holthoff’s pre-K class. Each week Mr. Holthoff and I work together to feature a fruit/vegetable of the week with his pre-k students. With this fruit/vegetable, we teach the students vocabulary words that they can use to describe different foods. One fruit of the week was avocado! Mr. Holthoff used the school’s cooking kit to make guacamole with his students, even letting young students use lettuce knives to learn how to chop up cilantro!
The students were mighty happy to have an afternoon snack of guacamole made by the work of their little hands!
