Policy Landscape and Our Work

Governor Joe Lombardo vetoed Nevada Assembly Bill 319 in 2023. The bill would have funded universal free school breakfast and lunch through the 2024-2025 school year by allocating $43 million to the State Department of Agriculture. He stated that the program was intended to be a temporary, pandemic-era measure funded by federal sources which were no longer available.
