Policy Landscape and Our Work

Washington does not currently have an active School Meals for All proposal. SB 5352 and HB 1404 would have expanded meals at no charge to all students, but they died in committee during the 2025–26 session. In 2026, Washington enacted HB 2594, which expands meal access for students experiencing homelessness and requires additional implementation planning.
