Policy Landscape and Our Work

Hawaii does not have an active School Meals for All proposal. HB 1779 would have phased in universal school meals by the 2029–30 school year, but it died in a Senate committee in March 2026. Under SB 1300, the state is continuing to expand eligibility for meals at no charge to more students.
