Policy Landscape and Our Work

In Washington State, a significant expansion of free school meals is underway with the introduction of SB 5352, which is currently in committee. This bill, introduced in 2025, aims to increase access to school meals by providing breakfast and lunch at no charge to all students beginning with the 2026-2027 school year, regardless of their family’s income level.
