San Francisco Unified School District

San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) has an enrollment of over 50,000 students. During the normal school year, Student Nutrition Services (SNS) serves over 37,000 meals per day at 136 schools across San Francisco with a combination of vended and scratch cooked, high quality, nutritious meals. SNS’s mission is to provide students the equitable support they need to succeed in the classroom and beyond, by keeping them nourished along the way. School nutrition team members help improve district-wide food programs by organizing taste tests, supporting meal initiatives, and assisting with the procurement of local and culturally appropriate foods to create more nourishing school meals. Corps members are provided with consistent and high quality professional development, and plentiful opportunities to learn, receive coaching, and collaborate with peers.
Becoming a corps member in California connects you to a legacy and future of innovative farm to school programming, vibrant school communities, and access to nourishing school meals. FoodCorps California members are part of a cohort of 8 members partnering in the Bay area and support statewide initiatives such as School Meals For All, California Thursdays/California Food for California Kids, and Harvest of the Month programs.
