Auburn Public Schools
Auburn, Maine is an outstanding small city whose geographic location, scale, natural resources, economic initiative, and commitment to a high quality of life make it an appealing place to live, work, and play. Auburn is rich in history and new traditions. Here you will find a balance between urban and rural living in a unique small city that offers quality education and bold economic, recreation, and housing opportunities. It is also a city determined to continue improving.
The ideal FoodCorps School Nutrition Member will bring robust energy to help create an invigorating and sustainable school meal program focused on enhancing the student experience in the cafeteria, classroom and community. You will support the expansion of our district-wide Farm to School program by incorporating partnerships with additional farms and helping introduce value-added products to enhance the variety and nutritional quality of offerings for our students. You will help expand our composting and food waste reduction programs in each school to promote sustainability and environmental responsibility. We are also on the precipice of increasing more menu offerings in schools to reflect and celebrate our students and families as part of a three district partnership with the Lewiston and Lisbon School Departments. Our FoodCorps member will collaborate closely with service members in Lewiston and Lisbon to help achieve these goals. We look forward to having you as a part of our team!
When you join FoodCorps in Maine, you join a family of 12 corps members serving all across the state. We connect both virtually and in person, spend time together and learn, and enjoy all the natural beauty and excellent food culture Maine has to offer. No matter where you are, you have the support of the cohort and FoodCorps Maine staff, Malia and Ryan, who both grew up in Maine and love sharing all that is great about this state with corps members who we hope will put down roots here and continue to be an important part of Maine.
