We Need Your Help to Save AmeriCorps
FoodCorps’ future is in jeopardy.
FoodCorps’ future is in jeopardy.
You may have seen reports this week of swift and severe changes to AmeriCorps. We recently learned that the federal government has shuttered two entire AmeriCorps programs, and cut hundreds of AmeriCorps agency staff.
AmeriCorps funding is an important part of what makes our work in 200+ schools across the country possible. Cuts to AmeriCorps will jeopardize our national service program, threatening the funding that helps us share nutritious school meals and engaging lessons with half a million students.
We’ve seen the impact of AmeriCorps firsthand. Our 1,500+ FoodCorps AmeriCorps alumni include teachers, farmers, food service directors, medical doctors, and community leaders whose service with AmeriCorps shaped their futures.
Further cuts to AmeriCorps would be devastating—for FoodCorps, for communities, and especially for our kids.

If you’ve got three minutes to help: Make a phone call to your legislators. Here’s an easy call script from our friends at Voices for National Service. Personal stories make a huge difference in moments like these, and we know there’s strength in numbers.
AmeriCorps has long been supported by legislators on both sides of the aisle, and with good reason: national service helps us all. Please raise your voice today. Thank you for joining us.
FoodCorps is a non-partisan, non-profit organization. FoodCorps staff and FoodCorps AmeriCorps members may not participate in any partisan or seemingly partisan activities during work time charged to an AmeriCorps funded grant or while earning AmeriCorps service hours. No federal funds were used to prepare or distribute these advocacy actions.
